  19. When I try to dialout using C-Kermit under solaris 2.4, as a regular
  20. user, I get an error message telling me I don't have permission to
  21. access the dialout device /dev/cu/a.  When I do a % ls -la /dev/cu/a
  22. it indicates root ownership, and everyone has rwx permissions turned on.

  24. If I login as superuser from my user account, I CAN dialout.

  26. Also, as a regular user, I can dialout using tip.

  28. What I cannot figure out is how I can dialout using tip, but cannot using 
  29. kermit (unless I've left the login shell and gone into su), knowing that 
  30. both applications use the same device identifier.
